Definition: Aggregate is a collection of items that are gathered together to form a total quantity.

The fleeting moments of knowledge in which we discover our existence are facts that can be committed to memory. We can enlarge this aggregate memory and refashion it as we go through a lifetime. By saving these memories on paper and reconstructing the images of our lives. We see the art of our lives unfolding before us.

Face the brilliance of your most wonderful creations and dwell on your dreams.
I believe in teaching, the sharing of ideas and playfulness of creating.

New Class....

I know right....
I just finished up with Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101. I Loved it and got so much useful information about techniques. I would recommend it to anyone who is an artist, scrapper and just people who like paint. You still can take the class at your leisure.

I still wanted more education...
So I found this class.

Letter Love-!
I have been looking for a contemporary Lettering class and well here it was right under my nose. ;D

Here is Joanne Sharpe's Blog with the info if you are interested.

Homework Day 1.
Art UP the front and back of the Journal. Here are the images of the front of my new lettering journal.

I used so many of the techniques that Tim taught in his class and a huge understanding of how all the Chemistry of the products has allowed me to have a new found freedom in my creativity. There was a moment of "Oh No where is Tim...? He's not holding my hand". But that soon passed and I flipped through my tags and found some inspiration in two seconds. Thanks TIM.

Front....

Front and Back....

Detail of Front....

I have been asked to share the process that I did for this cover.... Hope this is of some help.
To truly get the lesson I would sign up for Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101 Class.

Background Cover:
Start out with laying the book open onto the table so that I could Gesso the back and front of the book at the same time. About three coats. I wanted some of the dark to show through.

Once dry, I used Distress Stains onto my Kraft Mat and placed the gesso side down into the stains. Then I went in with a blending tool and added color where it needed to be jazzed up. Walnut stain around the edges.

Letters:
I used Manila card stock with spritz and flick technique, edged in walnut and black soot.

Fish:
With glossy paper I used Tim's Alcohol Agate ink technique and stamped a LaBlanche fish stamp. This was perfect for the look of fish scales. The photo does not do it justice.

Then glued everything down... Matte seal and glue by Ranger.

I really just started playing and did not have an Idea of what I wanted the out come to be. I found this an enjoyable approach to letting the art be what it wanted to be.
ENJOY.....

    1. Thank you...
What is cool about this class is she is teaching you how to use your "own" handwriting as a type of font....!

I love that. Just another way to play.
Thanks for checking in on me Sandi... Hope to see you again soon.
