Definition: Aggregate is a collection of items that are gathered together to form a total quantity.

The fleeting moments of knowledge in which we discover our existence are facts that can be committed to memory. We can enlarge this aggregate memory and refashion it as we go through a lifetime. By saving these memories on paper and reconstructing the images of our lives. We see the art of our lives unfolding before us.

Face the brilliance of your most wonderful creations and dwell on your dreams.
I believe in teaching, the sharing of ideas and playfulness of creating.

SDC89: Triangles. Mini Journal

SDC89: Triangles

It is Stampotique Design Challenge again.... Nellie is our hostess and is challenging us to use at least one triangle in your work. Easy Right?

I worked in my mini journal for this challenge. How I did this is.... I used watercolor paper and drew lines and filled in the triangles then I took watercolor masking fluid and a disposable paint brush and filled in over the pencil lines. Wait for the masking to dry and throw away the disposable brush. Now the fun part. Using my water brush and watercolors just played with color. Once the paint is dry you can roll off the masking off and erase the pencil lines.

Stamped the edges of the paper with light gray and medium gray ink with Stampotique Stamp Honeycomb Background.

Then stamped Mary onto white card stock and colored with Copic markers then fussy cut her out. Stamped another image of Mary onto the Triangle watercolor paper so that you can see all her details. Glue Mary onto the top of the stamped image on the watercolor. Then give her a shadow with Copic markers. Adhere the Thicker Sicker letters and Date stamp.

Hope you are able to play along with us at Stampotique Designers Challenge this week. You do not need to use Stampotique Stamps. You have a chance to win $30 in a gift certificate to Stampotique Originals Stamps.

Enjoy your creative day.

Cloth Paper Scissors Tunnel Book Challenge 2013

"Art On The Cellular Level"

Good Morning-!

I wanted to share what I have been working on for the last few weeks for the Cloth Paper Scissors Tunnel Book Challenge.

"Art On The Cellular Level"

This book is 5"x5"x5/8"
I have been fascinated with cells and the appearance of scientific imagery, as though we are peering into the cell or perhaps floating through the cell. The cell structures of this book are hand cut card stock and sandwiched between two pieces of black card stock windows. There are 5 Pages in all with decreasing smaller windows as you flip through the book. On the last page there is the word "Art" cut out of the black card stock and doodled cells on the pink card stock, within the word "Art". This also speaks to the fact that Art is not an option for me. It is a must and I have a constant yearning to create.

I hope you will have a creative day to the cellular level.
Best,
Sarinda

SDC88: Text All About It

SDC88:

Stampotique Designers Challenge starts today..... YEah. I love Stampotiqe Day_!!!

This challenge is about using Text in your work. In your journal, in a tag, card OR a 3D item.
I went with a simple look to my tag and used chipboard as my tag base added an eyelet, string and some Studio Calico wood Hexagons. Added the text from my Brother's Grimm Fairytale book. It seems very appropriate to use with with Stampotique Stamps don't you think? Distressed the edges with Distress ink Vintage Photo.

The Stamps I used are:
Underwhere
Giggles

I hope you will play along in the challenge this week. You do not need to use Stampotique stamps to win a $30.00 Gift Certificate to Stampotique Originals.
Have a fun day.

Laugh a Little More....

Happy Valentine's Day-!!

I love to laugh out loud and often. Just makes things feel alright.
My wish for you today is to Laugh often with the ones that you love.
Brilliant, Right?!
Enjoy
Sarinda

This pendant was made with a leftover watercolor that I had done recently. I glued it down onto a bit of wood piece that I found at the craft store. Stamped the Chick of "Starbird with Chick" stamp in Stazon black ink. Added the Laugh text from a Tim Holtz ChitChat book. Then I used Ice Resin to cap once dry about 24 hours I added the bail to the back of the wood with E6000.

Dream A Mountain

Hello Crafties....
I wanted to share the Cloth Paper Scissors February Color Challenge using two or more of these colors below.

I have to say that this was a fun challenge for me... and color is what gets me creative.

What I have done on this canvas is gesso'd it about 5 times then sanded in between each gesso application. This took the longest to do. Then using acrylic paint and H20 I created the two aqua color mountains. Using my new favorite Stencil (Sea foam) from Artistcellar then using Pan Pastels added the bright green and berry color.

Enjoy-!

My Mind's Eye "Be Happy" Tag and FotoBella.com

 Hello Again....

Sarinda here with a tag that I had so much fun doing.

Tip:

Don't be afraid to tear your paper....
I think the torn edges makes this whole tag pop.
It has a shabby feel yet still refined.

Also- I wanted to share a photo I was able to get with Mr. Tim Holtz at CHA after his amazing class.
Thanks FotoBella.com for this amazing opportunity to go to CHA.

Take Care-

Tim Holtz February Tag 2013

Hope your weekend was wonderful...

I was able to get into the art studio after teaching a wearables glass class on Saturday. Yeah.
Thought I would show you what I made Saturday with the loot that I received  from winning the Tim's January tag.

Tim and Mario so generously gave away the Mini BluePrints CMS146 it has 12 smaller stamps that are just the perfect size. I was so excited to have these, I was doing the Happy Bunny dance for sure. I think that their generosity is amazing and I can see all the efforts that they make goes beyond our expectations. A sincere and warm thank you to both Tim and Mario for all they do.

I used the cupid stamp on a wooden blank and colored it with copic markers then caped it in Glossy Accents then added just a bit of iridescent glitter to the top. The rest of the tag was basically following Tim's instructions on his site. I of course used some texture fades with black Kraft-Core Core'dinations. And I had to use the pawn... It made me giggle.

Hope you can find some time to play along and create a tag for February. I quite enjoyed it.

Warmly-
Sarinda

SDC86: Color Challenge

 Hello Everyone.

It is time for Stampotique Designers Challenge. My team mate Jenn Cochran is hosting and asking us to play with specific colors "Colors of Love"- Red, Pink & White. I have to say that I am always a fan of color challenges.

I had a great time with this one. I knew that I wanted to use mostly white with hints of the other two colors. So naturally I also went with a lot of texture with the piece. Using crackle paint on chipboard as the background and on the heart. Yet adding a hint of color to the heart with Distress Stains Victorian Velvet. The stamp I used was KeyKeeper by Kira Nichols. Just love Kira's drawings and monsters. They make me giggle every time.

Hope you can jump over to Stampotique Designers Challenge and play along. You could win some of these great stamps.

Wishing your fingers to be very inky.
xx
