Definition: Aggregate is a collection of items that are gathered together to form a total quantity.

The fleeting moments of knowledge in which we discover our existence are facts that can be committed to memory. We can enlarge this aggregate memory and refashion it as we go through a lifetime. By saving these memories on paper and reconstructing the images of our lives. We see the art of our lives unfolding before us.

Face the brilliance of your most wonderful creations and dwell on your dreams.
I believe in teaching, the sharing of ideas and playfulness of creating.

Sketch Book 10-4-2011

I thought I would share some Watercolor drawings out of my sketch book.... I have been trying to draw every day even if it is only for a few minutes. Wow- I am so out of practice. This took me almost 2.5 hours to work on. When in the past it would have been only an hours or so. Now, I know why all my teachers in art school said, "Always always draw everyday." This one is done with watercolor, fountain pen black ink and a technical red pen. Totally free form, no pencil drawing done before. I will be sharing more of these works.
Enjoy the day. sarinda

Brain Freeze.

So as I realize that the time has somewhere floated away.

Where has the time gone to. I have plenty that I have done and have not been idle. Fragmented thought- I always remind people to take the time to do for themselves in some indulgent way. I need to take my own advice. As I have been very busy with glass commissions and I am truly grateful. Keep them coming... I also need to stoke the flame that lives within. With a Commitment to self - work in my Journal EVERYday even if only 10 min. This is not an option but a requirement for healthy living. With that I am off to attend to the many tasks at hand and set aside time this evening to draw.

New Birthday Cards

Here are some new ways of using your plastic containers that hold all the great scrapbooking goods you get.

I have cut off the sharp edges of the plastic container. So there is just a flat piece of plastic. Then emboss it with an embossing folder of your choice. Die cut out flowers or any shape. I think butterflies would work very nicely.

This has a great three dimentional look to it.

Play and experiment-
Enjoy-!

Happy Wed to you all.....

I am so very pleased to be with Scrap Yourself for another term. Thank you.

Color.... Color.... Color....
"I Love Color. All Colors. Yet- for whatever reason Black is my favorite."

A bit about myself:
I am a professional glass artist. Yes, that is right. I make my money from art completely. I have done art my entire life and I was trained in fine art. However, I was never really satisfied with painting and wanted more. Not know WHAT that more was.... I ended up with a art history degree.

Funny thing- I collected marbles since I was a young girl. Not knowing that Glass could have been an option for a career in the arts. I met Dale Chihuly in 2002 for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. We spoke for a very short time and what I took from the conversation is that I needed to apply to Pilchuck Glass School and have been creating glass art for ten years now.

I still can not take myself away from paper... I love to scrap book as well as spend time in my sketch pad and watercolor.... It always comes full circle.

Thank you for listening.
Enjoy Life....

Love Life Mon Ami

What is St. Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14 as a festival of romance and affection. People send greeting cards called valentines to their sweethearts, their friends, and members of their families.

Valentine's Day comes on the feast of two different Christian martyrs named Valentine. But the customs connected with the day have nothing to do with the lives of the saints. They probably come from an ancient Roman festival called Lupercalia which took place every February 15. The festival honored Juno, the Roman goddess of women and marriage, and Pan, the god of nature.

Years ago, people held many beliefs in connection with Valentine's Day. One of the oldest beliefs said that birds chose their mates on February 14.

Most Valentine's Day customs were concerned with romance or the choice of a mate. The Romans celebrated their feast of Lupercalia as a lovers' festival for young people. Young men and women chose partners for the festival by drawing names by chance from a box. Then the partners exchanged gifts as a sign of affection. They usually continued to enjoy one another's company long after the festival. Many such courtships ended in marriage.

Watercolor Paintings

Happy Wednesday~ I wanted to share some recent watercolor paintings that I created regarding Scotland.... It has been a long time since I have painted..... let's say college. WOW- Having fun with it.
