Definition: Aggregate is a collection of items that are gathered together to form a total quantity.

The fleeting moments of knowledge in which we discover our existence are facts that can be committed to memory. We can enlarge this aggregate memory and refashion it as we go through a lifetime. By saving these memories on paper and reconstructing the images of our lives. We see the art of our lives unfolding before us.

Face the brilliance of your most wonderful creations and dwell on your dreams.
I believe in teaching, the sharing of ideas and playfulness of creating.

Artistcellar "Let Your Heart Sing..."

Hello Lovlies.....

Sarinda here with your mid week muse and a tag tutorial that will create oodles of texture on your works. This technique is stunning on canvas as well as smaller works. Also this technique I learned from an Artsy friend. Her name is Magda and her blog is also fun to go visit.

I have a secret that I what to let you in on....  I use all the time.  I love color and often when I have a creative freeze  I hop over to Design Seeds and look at all the color inspiration. This will always do the trick for me. Below is the color inspire image from Design Seeds that I used for this project.

Here is what you will need:

  • Artistcellar Stencils TEXTures 2 and Tam's Inspiration
  • Pitt Pens
  • Tag
  • Gel Medium
  • Palette Knife
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Sponge Brush
  • Distress Ink Walnut Stain
  • H2O in spray bottle
  • Tissue Ephemera
  • Scissors
Step 1:
Apply generous Gel Medium onto your tag.

Step 2:
Adhere ephemera to the tag. I used an old pattern and some Tim Holtz Tissue. Then trim off excess around the edges.

Step 3: Add your layers of acrylic paint. I started with a Yellow.
Then a gray.
Next is white.
And Teal.

Step 4:
Find the TEXTures Stencils and add Raw Umber to parts of the tag.

Step 5:
Add a darker more intense Teal to parts of the edge and add water to blend.

Step 6:
Add Distress Ink to the surface and edges of tag.

Step 7:
Paint a yellow heart and fussy cut out.

Step 8:
Use Tam's Word stencil Loved.... Use the Pitt brush Pen and outline LOVE.

Step 9:
Give your new creation to a friend who needs to hear they are loved.

Artistcellar Bright & Airy

Hello Creatives.....
Sarinda here for you mid week muse and a quick watercolor tutorial. I will be using Yupo Paper.... You will be amazed with what this paper will do for watercolors.
Here is what you will need:

Step 1: Mix an orange color that you like in the pallet add a large circle a bit left of center of your Yupo Paper. Notice how the watercolor will pool in areas. This is the magic of this paper.

Step 2: Mix a green yellow. I added just a touch of grey to mute the brightness. I also will use a scrap of Yupo paper to test the color on.

Step 3: Add a grey blue to the center of the circle and to the right of the circle. Note that I leave some white space on my paintings. I feel this adds interest and breathing room to a watercolor. Sometimes I can over work an area and this is how I keep myself from doing so.

Step 4: Add a muted purple to the far left side. Then I was able to add more color to the center of the circle. Just play and have fun. I love how the paper keeps the brush strokes and pools in other places.

Step 5: I added some quick graphite markings to the circle and dots.

Step 6: Lay the stencil on top of the dry watercolor and add Pan Pastels in grey and brown to the sides of the circle. I also took my Pitt pen in "S" to darken just some of the lines and dots. Spray Workable Fixative and let dry. This helps prevent the Pan Pastels from smudging.

Step 7: Frame and enjoy-!!
These would make great gifts for the Holidays and do not take much time to create.

Stay Warm-

Artistcellar Star Coral and Stampotique Stamp Journal Page

Hello Artists-

Happy Hump day. Sarinda here with your midweek muse with a journal technique using the Star Coral Stencil from Artistcellar.

Here is what you will need:

Step 1: Apply the acrylic paint to the 12"x12" white paper with the sponge brayer. You will only used a 6.5"x6.5". I use the larger paper so that I can use the best part of the sheet. Let Dry. Clean off brayer as soon as you are done with the application of paint. Otherwise it dry into the sponge and will be a one time use.

This is what my sheet looked like after painting.

Step 2: Place Artistcellar Star Coral stencil onto the portion of the painted paper that you would like to use. Apply light grey and cream acrylic paint with the the sponge brayer. Let dry. Make sure that you rinse off the stencil and brayer.

Once dry trim to 6.5"x6.5".

Step 3: Place the stencil over the painting just a bit off then outline with the Pitt "S" pen.

Step 4: Add the Ranger Crackle Accents to the center of the light circles. Let dry over night. This crackle does better to dry by air than with a heat tool.

Step 5: Apply the Distress Stain on top of the dried crackle. Let the stain saturate and go into the cracks once you are happy with the color then remove the excess with a paper towel.

Step 6: Stamp Stampotique "Smushallaum" Mermaid and Sentiment stamps onto the white card stock with Memento Black ink. Use heat tool to dry. Color with Copic Markers then fussy cut out. Cut out the sentiment in a rectangle.

Step 7: Cut out black card stock to fit both the art and the sentiment. Glue both Mermaid and sentiment to the top.

Congratulations on your journal page.

Be Well-

SDC124: Using Gesso

Hello Creatives.  Welcome to Stampotquie SDC124: Gesso

Sarinda here and I am asking you to rethink Gesso in this challenge. I find that I use Gesso a lot in my work and feel is an amazing tool to utilize. Yes, tool. Not only does is serve as a basic prep to your sub-straight, It picks up texture of a stencil, use it with a pallet knife, layer it. And if you are using it with inks, sprays, stains it will create unique depth to your backgrounds. Even try it on top of lace, fabric, tulle. Play and be free. I have a gesso tutorial (Below) if you need some extra inspiration. www.AggregateMemories.blogspot.com

I also wanted to take the time to Thank all of you for your wonderful, creative support over the years. This will be my last challenge I will be hosting with Stampotique. As my glass art business is demanding more of my time... This is good as I have been working for this moment over 13 years. I will not be a stranger to Stampotique as most of you know... I LOVE STAMPOTIQUE.

Face the Brilliance of your most wonderful creations and Dwell on you Dreams.
Cheers-
Sarinda
