Definition: Aggregate is a collection of items that are gathered together to form a total quantity.

The fleeting moments of knowledge in which we discover our existence are facts that can be committed to memory. We can enlarge this aggregate memory and refashion it as we go through a lifetime. By saving these memories on paper and reconstructing the images of our lives. We see the art of our lives unfolding before us.

Face the brilliance of your most wonderful creations and dwell on your dreams.
I believe in teaching, the sharing of ideas and playfulness of creating.

Hello Crafties.....
I am feeling like I gaining some footing and getting back to it. So to speak.
I have been working on my glass studio and it has taken way longer than expected. And Gram Gram has been here visiting and we all love the Gram Gram. ;D
I know I have promised a video tut and it is almost finished. just fyi I have not forgotten.

I am excited to be able to play along whit Stampotique's Challenge. As soon as I realized I did not have any of the sentiments I wondered WHY? I love them so much. SO I went right over to the shop and ordered some..... Much to my surprise they arrived before the challenge was over. YEAH.
Hope you can play along... you might win a $30 gift certificate-!!!

I used 4U #7236 Sentiment stamp and  Bob's in time out #6066

SDC58: Sentiments

Jane here:  I am hosting the newbie challenge here for my first time  :)

So, we all know that Stampotique has many fun about all the very cool sentiments??  Since I have fallen deep for art journaling I have found that my Stampotique images and sentiments/quotes go perfect in my journals.

Below I used some stencils, acrylics and magazine cut outs to create this art page.  The quote is called " Lying in bed" (by sark) and it is perfectly the way I feel!  lol   Sometimes I wonder about my addiction!  I cut it out in sentence pieces and put it on some painty scraps and then popped them on the page.  I also used "squiggle arms" by Roc Nicholas on the left side.  If you happen to be looking for art journal inspiration...look no further then some of the artists and dt members for Stampotique!  Lots here!

Hope you will join us using one of your Stampotique sentiments for this challenge and maybe be the winner of a $30.00 gift certificate for stamps to the Stampotique store! Please remember you must use STAMPOTIQUE stamps to qualify to win and only one entry per person.

Cabbage Leaf

I love the look of leaves and the veins in them.... always have. We had rain a few days back that was  a great relief from the heat. I was out in the garden taking in the eye candy and found this huge droplet. The color was breathtaking to me.

This image is for the 365 Project that I started the first of this month. I hope that I continue to be pleasantly surprised with the photos and outcomes. As well stay with it.

This image was taken on my iPhone and then I used an app "called Color Effects" it basically gives you a black and white image then you add back in the color to a specific area. Cool... Huh?

I hope you are enjoying your weekends.

Artistic Tags with Anna Dabrowska Live with Prima

Hi there and Happy 4th of July to you.

Anna Dabrowska is an artist that I can not get enough of her work.
Maybe it is because it is so different from mine. Whatever the reason, her mixed media work gets me excited, so every chance I can get I like to take in her art. Anna is a Prima Girl and recently did a live workshop with Prima Live. This is a place where you can see the Prima artists work live to see how they put things together and ask questions. It is a great way to learn.

As an art school grad.... I have always been told to emulate an artist that you like, it is a huge help to understand techniques and gather knowledge for your own personal tool box. Then your own personal style and effects come through you have more skills to choose from.

We all have a personal artistic voice that can not be duplicated. With any class that I teach I encourage students to "copy" my work in order to understand the techniques involved. Every time the art has the makers voice attached to the work. Sorry for the rant.... I believe the process of art is all about discovery and also sharing techniques and styles. Yet- as an artist we all have to find the courage to find our own unique style, without always copying others work.
With that being said, I worked along with Anna's video and played right along with her step by step to see how she does what she does. (so much FUN)

The result is above. Here is a link to Anna's original Tags
Thanks Anna and Prima for sharing your talents and inspiring me.

DIY Smash Mini Album Tutorial

Hi there....
I finally got this tutorial finished. It took me a bit longer than I expected-!

Here is what you will need:
Chipboard or cereal box, various papers,
tags and envelopes, binding coil,
 binder like a Cinch,
paper cutter/ trimmer, rule,
scissors, pen or pencil,
Multi medium or some kind of paste, foam brush,
bone folder, plain canvas or cute cloth.

Velcro circles, bakers twine and
Silhouette Cameo.
This is the outside album cover size 7″ x 6″.
Cut 3 pieces of Chipboard, 2- 7″ x 6″ 1- 1.5″ x 7″.
Cut a piece of plain canvas to 9″ x 5″
I used Claudine Hellmth Studio Multi-medium Matte to adhere the canvas to the chipboard. You could also use Golden Matte Medium.

 Trim inside papers to 5.5″ x 6.5″
Cut some kraft paper, white cardstock, map paper, dictionary paper, vellum paper. As an afterthought it would have been fun to add postcards and other unique items to the stack.
I also added some envelopes and tags. Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out tags and holders fun  pockets to hold various bits and pieces.

TIP: I also used some very small sticky
velcro circles to the flaps of the envelopes as closures.
Using my We R Memory Keepers Cinch to punch holes in all the papers, envelopes and tags.
Load the pages on a 5/8″ coil.
  Cut patterned paper that will line the inside covers 2- 5 7/8″ x 6 7/8″ .
Round the 2 outside corners on each.
This photo does not show the rounded edges. You could use any sort of punch or fun edger.

 Cut a piece of cardstock 6.5″ x 12.
Score the cardstock at 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7.
Fold the middle score like a mountain and all the others like valleys.
Then punch holes with the Cinch add to the stack of paper on the 5/8" coil.
Put the scored/punched cardstock on the binder rings and squeezed them shut.
Place a mark where the cardstock
corner ends on the chipboard. This is as far as the gel medium will go to.

Apply a coat of gel medium to adhere the album to chipboard.

Adhere the album inside to the chipboard outside cover.
Then adhere the patterned paper to the inside of the chipboard.

Then I added some scrap paper to the front and Washi Tape.
NOW for the FUN part.....
fill your book with doodles, ephemera, ticket stubs, Instagram images and other fun goodies.

As I was creating this book I thought that these would make great gifts for some of my girlfriends. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions regarding this tutorial.
I hope you fun making your own mini album.
